Beloved Pokemoon fam, *** drum roll, brrrrrr*** we’re delighted to announce our first partnership: Baby Banana! Please give a warm welcome to our new herbaceous friends!
BabyBanana is a fantastic project led by an incredible team that features amazing NFTs, a great ecosystem, and an awesome community!
What is this partnership about?
We’re joining forces to finally make one of our longstanding dreams come true: together we are building an NFT trading card game (TCG) based on the rules and mechanics of the first base set of the original Wizard’s of the Coast Pokémon trading card game. That’s right, mfs.
As you know, Pokemoon is no stranger to trading cards — we’ve already minted and released dozens of sumptuous 3D NFT collectibles inspired by the original TCG. This partnership merely takes our team’s acumen to another level by supercharging it with the power of the mighty Baby Banana.
Details are of course still being finalized, but this is what we have for you so far — the lowdown,
- The TCG will be multiplayer and feature blockchain functions/play to earn
- The gameplay will be like the Pokémon TCG base set, and the cards’ stats and perks will match those of the base set
- The set will be composed of 102 different cards, including characters Energy cards, Trainer cards and Items
- The cards will be sold in booster packs and we will offer some pre-built decks for players to use as a foundation for building their own deck — naturally expansion series will follow (based on as yet un-announced partnerships, sh)
- A marketplace will be available for collectors and players to trade cards (already mentioned)
- A limited series of first editions will be minted, therefore the amount of available booster packs will be limited as well
- The first set of mints will feature a special watermark that will distinguish this series from later sets to induce maximum fomo
A nostalgianaut for all ages and the economics
If you already have experience playing the original TCG you’ll find yourself in ultra nostalgia moods with our throwback edition. And you’ll be able to earn mad cash with your skills!
No matter how high the demand gets, we will not mint more cards of the base set, but there will of course be expansion sets in the future.
At launch, the booster packs/pre-built decks must be purchased with a combination of the BabyBanana and Pokémoon tokens (more details will follow on pricing/burns).
Both teams are currently working at light speed to get the game and NFT shop/marketplace ready as quickly as possible without making any compromises. Stay tuned for sneaky previews on our respective channels.
